How I Hiatus: Cabo San Lucas, Baja California

Our spring break in Cabo could not have been more relaxing. We were excited to stay at the Grand Velas, a new hotel, wonderfully decorated by our friend Melin Castro. Set on the last sliver of undeveloped beach, right by Playa el Chileno, the hotel's luscious and colorful landscaping overlooks the very tip of the Gulf of California.

This was the perfect setting for some sunset margaritas on white sandy beaches. At night we were able to catch some of the most incredible blood moons melting warm light over the nocturnal waves.

The true highlight though, was joining the whale watching boat ride, we were so lucky to see hump back whales breaching in front of the iconic El Arco rock formation, monolithic creatures rising out of the ocean are quite the experience to see!
