“I snagged some precious vintage ceramic coffee cups made in Italy and hand-painted candles by the local Esme Saleh”

Pierce & Ward in Los Feliz was recently introduced to me and I can’t stop going back because the staff is so friendly and the objects curated new and old are exquisite! Especially as we race against time to find some thoughtful gifts for our loved ones this week, this beautiful shop will have something for everyone!

If you are not familiar with the dynamic interior design duo behind Pierce & Ward, just check out one of their latest projects, Dakota Johnson’s mid century abode.  I snagged some precious vintage ceramic coffee cups made in Italy and hand-painted candles by the local Esme Saleh. Go, sit on their perfectly British upholstered sofas and say hi to Ricky for me ;)

“You can be up there all day or just keep it under 1 hour and still feel like you have gained a few years of life.”

Now taking a hard turn up the 2 FWY I am going to share a little secret place I like to go to at least once a week. Exactly 20 minutes from my home in east LA, Grizzly Flat Trailhead is the perfect hike to get your cardio up and your soul refreshed! I have been going up to Angeles Forest for years now, but this hike was introduced to me by my friend Greta during the pandemic and it is now officially my favorite. The sweeping views of Los Angeles in one direction and of the inner valleys in the other, never fail to take my breath away.

It’s exciting to witness every seasons changing – yes, we have seasons too in LA, albeit milder! – as the vegetation along with the smells and colors go through their cycle. You can be up there all day or just keep it under 1 hour and still feel like you have gained a few years of life.
